Analysis & Outlook

The Titans had a down-and-then-up season with QB Vince Young taking over from Kerry Collins and RB Chris Johnson breaking out in spectacular fashion. The Titans have some good young players and are also looking to plug some holes with the acquisition of DE Jason Babin and LB Will Witherspoon.

They definitely need to get their act together defensively. They ranked second-to-last in pass defense and both pass rush and pass coverage will be a priority.

Offensively, the Titans will have to replace Alge Crumpler with a young blocking TE to allow both Vince Young and Chris Johnson to continue their success.

In the first round, I expect the Titans to focus on either their D-Line or the secondary. A DT like Dan Williams, CBs Joe Haden and Kyle Wilson, and S Earl Thomas are among the guys I think they’ll target. There are opportunities in both the third and fourth round for the Titans to build more depth in those areas well. In the fifth round, don’t be surprised if they select either Brody Eldridge or Nate Byham to play as a blocking TE.

The Titans are in a tight race with the Houston Texans for the spot behind the Indianapolis Colts. The Titans need to tighten up their defense and Vince Young will have to prove himself again.
